Iowa State Students start the IINSPIRE LSAMP Program during the Summer term and continue through the next academic year. Students join a cohort of prospective STEM transfer and Iowa State students who conduct mentored research in the summer and through the academic year on the Iowa State Campus. Students participate in mentored research experiences and receive research training leading to the IINSPIRE LSAMP Undergraduate Research Certificate.
Summer term
- Commit to AT LEAST 20 hours per week of IN PERSON research training on the Iowa State University campus during the summer term (June 3rd – July 26th, 2024).
- Participate in research training events organized through the ISU Honors Program
- Participate in weekly seminars on the Iowa State Campus.
- Construct your research poster as a part of the program.
- Present your research poster at the IINSPIRE LSAMP Summer Symposium, Iowa State Summer Symposium and/or the IINSPIRE LSAMP Annual Conference.
Academic year
- Attend monthly IINSPIRE LSAMP student meetings
- Commit to AT LEAST 10 hours per week of IN PERSON research training.
- Participate in research training events offered by the ISU Undergraduates Research Office and the Graduate College (See ISU IINSPIRE LSAMP Calendar)
- Meet with ISU IINSPIRE LSAMP Advisor AT LEAST twice per term
- Construct your research poster as a part of your training.
- Present your research poster at the IINSPIRE LSAMP Annual Conference.
